Gathering together when forced to be apart. This project celebrates music played in fits and starts, by two studio artists with masks on tight, at the beginning of the global pandemic during early 2020. Feeling frustrated by the lag and feel of virtual jams via Zoom and Twitch, and the lack of being together, we decided to meet, at a distance in spaces within and around the Hubbard Street Lofts building in Chicago, Illinois for improvised music sessions. Amidst the monotony of isolation, we hungered for joy and celebration.

Odd Odds: Pandemic Music is a capsule of this time; celebrating fights for justice, screams of optimism, and glimmers of hope reflected against the challenges of our collective grief...

Using a tenor saxophone, electric guitar, electric bass, effects pedals, and a loop pedal, along with a 4 piece drum set and various hand percussion, Chad Kouri and Andy Hall made all the sounds you hear on this album, and recorded everything onto a stereo field recorder placed in the room during each session.
