The year 1975 brought together Don Cherry's hyper-dimensional trumpet sound with the out-worldly spaced synthesizers of Terry Riley. The live recordings from February of that year, titled "Köln," are the touchstones for this Kouri Hall horn and synthesizer composition.

The year 1975 also brought us the album Brown Rice. The 40-minute studio album, 9th by trumpeter Don Cherry; it unfolds as a borderless ideal, both joyfully futuristic and wildly archaic. Moki Cherry is the artist who created the album cover art. 1975 is the year Space Mountain opened, Vietnam war closed, "Jaws" dropped, and Viking 1 launched towards Mars: joy, trauma, terror, progress, ???
